Dillion Taylor was walking out of a 7-11 in Salt Lake City on August 11th with headphones on.  No one knows how much of or if he heard at all the officer who shot him dead's orders because... he's dead.

Now, body camera footage from the officer's cam has been released.

New body cam footage released shows Dillion Taylor’s execution the moment he appears to be complying with officers orders to put his hands up, the District Attorney has ruled the shooting “justified”.

The family is “upset with my decision since they think that since he didn’t have a weapon, he shouldn’t have been shot.” County Attorney Sim Gill stated.

Warning: This video shows an officer-involved shooting in which a man is killed by gunfire.

The officer had no reason to suspect this man of anything other than that he fit the general description of a man who had been reported as waving a gun around. This is reminiscent of the man in South Carolina, Ed Jones, who was shot as he was following orders to retrieve his license.  Fortunately for him, he didn't die, and the officer has been fired and indicted. Dillion suffered a different fate.

He couldn’t hear them, so he just kept walking. Then … they had guns pointed at his face. That’s when he turned off the music,” Taylor’s brother Jerrail Taylor told the victim-blaming SLC Tribune. “I saw them point guns at my brother’s face, and I knew what was going to happen.”
