Tertiary Syphilis - an example.

“There is literally no one more likely to move mountains than your megalomaniac syphilitic.”

I thought I was numbed to trumpian shocks. Honestly, who thought he could go any lower? He now accuses Cassidy of being mentally ill.  Apparently my self-dosing with mental novacane, also known as Honey’s Homemade Brownies using granddaddy purple bud was not enough.

Here’s how to recognize a megalomaniac:

  • an overestimation of themselves;
  • delusions of grandeur;
  • delusions of power;
  • self-attribution of extraordinary abilities;
  • an immense desire for glory;
  • inordinate pride.

From Wikipedia:

General paresis of the insane
General paresis, also known as general paralysis of the insane, paralytic dementia, or syphilitic paresis is a severe neuropsychiatric disorder, classified as an organic mental disorder and is caused by late-stage syphilis and the chronic meningoencephalitis and cerebral atrophy that are associated with this late stage of the disease when left untreated. GPI differs from mere paresis, as mere paresis can result from multiple other causes and usually does not affect cognitive function. Degenerative changes caused by GPI are associated primarily with the frontal and temporal lobar cortex. The disease affects approximately 7% of individuals infected with syphilis, and is far more common in third world countries where fewer options for timely treatment are available. It is more common among men. GPI was originally considered to be a type of madness due to a dissolute character, when first identified in the early 19th century.

I watched an interview of Trump from 2002. He used big words. He even used them appropriately. His grammar was grammar-ly, his usage correct. He even spoke at length on a single issue, focusing on the same topic for at least 10 minutes. Of course, a lot was self-referencial, and consisted of his alleged successes.

Watching the former guy being interviewed over the past week, I was reminded of an old mystery I read by one of my favorite brain candy authors. Dick Francis’ Bonecrack is based on two father-son relationships and how a mad father was a danger to all who refused his son anything. Turns out the mad dad had tertiary syphilis and suffered from GPI.

Francis caught the temper, the word usage, the demand for total obedience and the madness driving it all. Reminded me of someone currently residing in some marred Lagoon.

Not having a medical degree, I refuse to accuse someone of having a contagious, potentially deadly disease, one which causes severe mental illness after long-term exposure. However, I strongly recommend that Stormy Daniels get herself checked out pronto. Syphilis, untreated, is contagious no matter which stage exists in someone.
